It always amazes me how tired and hungry we get this first week as we adapt back to schedules and routines. But we have survived and had a few laughs along the way.
Each Friday (well when I remember) I will ask the class what are some memories of our week; what really excited them. So here is our first list of highlights:
1. AGENDAS!! They love their agendas!!!
2. Being Back to School: Kids miss their friends and routines. As much as we love the freedom of summer, children thrive on routines, predictability and their social networks.
3. Art: Creating patterns with our initials was fun for some.
4. Math: I love students that love math.
My favourite memory of the week was our impromptu "Floss" lesson at 2 pm. Nothing like busting out a great dance move when kids are tired and the day seems long.
